Solubility: Soluble in molten alkali and molten iron,insoluble in water,ethanol and acid.

Storage: Stored in a cool,dry,ventilated warehouse,can not be stored and transported together with inorganic acid,alkali.


Uses of Silicon carbide

In general,silicon carbide has a wide range of applications.Silicon carbide has four main application areas,namely: functional ceramics,advanced refractory materials, abrasives and metallurgical raw materials.

(1) As abrasive,it can be used as abrasive tools,such as grinding wheel,whetstone, grinding head,grinding block, sand tile,etc.

(2) For the production of wear resistance,corrosion resistance,high temperature resistance and other advanced silicon carbide ceramic materials.

(3) as a metallurgical deoxidizer and high temperature resistant material.Silicon carbide deoxidizer is a new type of strong compound deoxidizer, replacing the traditional silicon powder carbon deoxidize, and the original process compared with the physical and chemical properties are more stable,good deoxidization effect,shorten the deoxidization time, save energy,improve steel efficiency,improve the quality of steel.Using silicon carbide corrosion resistance,thermal shock resistance wear resistance,good thermal conductivity characteristics,used in large blast furnace lining to improve the service life.

(4) high purity single crystal, can be used to manufacture semiconductors,manufacturing silicon carbide fiber.

(5) The use of good thermal conductivity and thermal stability,heat exchanger,reduce fuel consumption, fuel saving, improve productivity.


Product advantage

Forsman provides a variety of silicon carbide powder,from the crystal type of B-silicon carbide and α-silicon carbide;The microscopic form is spherical, whisker, etc.the particle size is nanometer, submicron,micron,etc.

The color of silicon carbide powder is generally light green,but different particle size color is not the same.The larger the grain size of the product, the more obvious the green, the smaller the grain size, the color of the earth brown.Industrial products are 0.5 μm,1 μm,2 μm,10 μm, etc.can provide granulation powder,can accept customers other size customization.

Usually silicon carbide whisker,nanocrystalline whisker particle size is small,light weight,easy to drift in the air,causing environmental pollution,harm to human body.Unlike the silicon carbide whisker provided by Forssman,which is only about 70% whisker in the market,our micro level is 100% whisker.At the same time,the whisker is processed into spherical whisker, which can be environmentally friendly, not easy to drift,and protect the safety of users.For details,please refer to the following electron microscopy images.
